About Flying Rhino Records
Background
August 1994 - Flying Rhino Records was established initially as a collaboration between Zoom Records and three DJs
& Producers: James Monro, Dominic Lamb & George Barker. After a year with Zoom and four releases, FR became an independent
Limited Company handling all of its own manufacturing, distribution and promotion.
1995 - Sally Welch becomes Label Manager. Over the next three and a half years her expertise and immense knowledge of the
music industry help ensure the rise and rise of Flying Rhino Records.
1997 - Annie Weir becomes Sales & Marketing Manager. She ensured that the ever expanding Flying Rhino ran smoothly on a day
to day basis.
1998 - Cass Cutbush takes over from Sally Welch as Label Manager.
1999 - The label evolves & expands. Flying Rhino tracks are played by a large array of diverse dj talent, from Sasha &
Digweed to Danny Tenaglia. Ministry Radio & Radio 1 air-play have also helped.
2000 - Annie Weir takes over from Cass as Label Manager.
2004 – Due to financial constraints Label ceases to Trade.
2007 – A new collaboration between George Barker, James Monro, Dominic Lamb and Will Stoner Flying Rhino is Reborn.
A Rhino Rides Again Production
"Since the wings came off the Horned One in 2002, due to unforeseen technical malfunctioning, and the Great Spirit split
away and dispersed into the far flung regions of the cosmos, it was thought that the twisted grin and fire breathing snort
were lost to us forever. However in a small village in Wiltshire, in the spring of 2007, stirrings in the force were felt
by one Will Stoner; who felt the spirit moving through him. Encouraged by his visions he felt to contact some of the old
keepers of the beast. George was summoned from Bali and James from Brazil. Dom had been lost for some years though, after
several months, an irregular homing signal was traced back to Ibiza, then London, then eventually to Italy. At a pow-wow
in Wiltshire, not far from the Avebury Stones, when traditional cups of tea were drunk and sacred herbs offered up, an idea
began that perhaps the Rhino In The Sky - a spirit that had carried many of us together across the heavens - could be
encouraged back to these regions if a fitting celebration of those times was begun. The idea of a cyber celebration was
born.
Since the Rhino's spirit has moved through and become fused with so many it was felt that we really needed to reach out to
all of you again. With your blessings, we want to create a site that celebrates the music, the art, the artists and the
party-goers from that time, and to see where that enormous vitality has carried us all to now. For sure we have all moved
on to different projects, following our hearts to new sounds, images, cultures and countries, and yet in all we do a part
of our being resonates to that throbbing beat.
This site will be about reaching out and bringing together scattered friends, celebrating the great tunes and times in our
past and the enormous diversity and beauty which emanates from that essence in everything we do now. Please help us to
imagine a vibrant, innovative and unconfined future where we are able to enjoy all that we create now with a loving gaze
to the past.”

Flying Rhino has been involved and signed some of the following artists: Slinky Wizard; Blue Planet Corporation; Atmos;
ManMadeMan; Darshan; Planet B.E.N.; 12 Moons; Bumbling Loons; 4D; Charasmatix, Bamboo Forest; Kinetico (Massimo Vivona);
Son Kite; Bus; Red Seal; Boom Devil and Western Rebel Alliance.
Many of these names are now well established within the scene. They have all previously released music on other labels
and perform regularly on the world wide live circuit.

The brand Flying Rhino and our djs and artists have covered events throughout the world including: France, Germany,

Catalogue
FR has always released music under a clear mandate.. “quality before profit” this is everything and as a result has
acquired a genuinely global cult status and a reputation for top notch and truly diverse product. The back catalogue
covers 1994 – 2002 and is a true historical journey of Psychedelic Trance over this period. The new status of the label
is now Non Profit Making so be prepared for some unusual and very original new content to follow soon.
Online Presence
Our distribution network is now exclusively through online distribution. The label is devoted to putting the artist and
dj first and will support them in every way possible. All future releases on this label will be available to everyone

Development & The Future
Flying Rhino now embraces Non Profit Making Status. New material releases will be made available for free MP3 download
with link pages to the relevant artist. By taking this free download approach we feel we are embracing the full reality
of digital downloads and hopefully by taking on this attitude will raise the Flying Rhino profile and assist all artists
associated with the label.
